^ They were supposed to be in the 900-1000 range with the current design, but the Park's Commission objected at they thought it would cause shadows upon Central Park. However that was proved to be false later on, and they didn't want them to be over a 1000 ft. They could easily go.

what I find the most astonishing about these buildings is how they stand up against time.

They're almost a decade old, yet, they could easily have been built yesterday.

This, and the Bank of China tower in HK are probably the top 2 that can do this.

What's with the Time-Warner Center lying about the floor counts. They're apparently both 55-stories, but somehow they're trying to claim they're 80 stories?
How do they get away with that?

Hard to believe it's coming up on ten years since this was built.

They really didn't have any foresight when constructing the TWC. With the current boom along 57th Street this will look tiny in comparison (225W, One57, 432 PA, 107).
The TWC should have been at least 900'.

With all the movement towards supertalls along the 57 St corridor, if proposed today TWC would be a minimum of 1200'.

Didn't they begin only a month or two after 9/11? Aside from the shadows over the park, it makes sense why they went shorter when considering the time. I think they look fine as is though.
