If he does another one like this but in a slightly better location, he'll have no problems. The only issue with this one is the location - at least as it is right now - in a couple of years the location won't be an issue, but right now it's still a little off the beaten path.

There's an ad in Gay Calgary that says the sales centre closes Nov 30 to demolish it and prepare the site for construction.

Excellent. Let;s hope that's the case, I'd love to see this one get built.

Yeah, this one is in kind of a no man's land between Victoria Park and Connaught.

The new Marriott should help out a lot, but I'm not aware of any other developments planned for the area.

The Place 10 proposal is right across the street from it (north side of 10th ave), and also on the north side of 10th along with the Marriott, there is another proposal for a 350 room Sutton Place hotel. The Sutton place hotel group has already submitted their DP, same for Place 10.

Not bad actually. I was bummed to hear that the artwork was more horses, but this at least has a modern twist to it.

I still think it is two too many! There are other icons of cowboy culture other than horses.

I was hoping for something different altogether, something very modern and cool.

Really hoping to see this one start next month. March was their intended start, correct?

Yes that was what they said at the sales centre. Hopefully they wouldn't lie to a sweet soul like me!

It suppose to start last summer, then they pushed to november, now they are saying it will start in 2-3 weeks, who knows lol.

The building looks nice, finishing are good, the only thing bothers me about that place is the bottle depot downstairs.

Why is that such a bother to some people? Same with the drop in centre near the East village. If you want to live in the downtown core of one of the largest cities in the country, you take the good with the bad. No city is free of amenities which cater to the homeless, nor should they be free of them. Homelessness is something that needs to be fixed, not swept under the rug.

No They revised the start date again, sometime in May.

Again.
Wonder how will the pre-approved mortgage be affected? Does the buyer will have to re apply again?
