Even from the rendering, it appears the mansard crown is the the same corrugated aluminum crap that makes up Elysian's crown. Not much left to cheapen.
Im pretty happy about the height and density increase though.

I dunno, if it were built exactly as the render represents, then it won't be horrible. However, it will likely end up looking like the bastard child of 10 E Delaware and Elysian.

If its built with half decent materials then it will look much better. It has much better massing and proportions than Elysian, Park Tower, Ritz, or 10E.

^The exterior design is truly vomit inducing. Its like they actually went for a fairy tail castle design straight out of a Disney movie. LaGrange's stuff is a bit more tasteful, aside from the all too often value engineered execution of his designs.


I found the answer to my inquiry on the Developer's website. The height went back up 6 stories. This is why the central tower has a bit more vertical thrust in the latest images, and IMO, looks much better.

In July 2009, in response to the challenging lending climate, Ricker-Murphy reduced the size of the tower from 41 to 33 stories and from 292 to 198 units. The developer also reserved the right to file a subsequent amendment with the city of Chicago to add up to six stories and 31 additional homes if economic conditions improved.

In conjunction with the loan announcement, the developer has confirmed that they have filed the amendment and received approval to construct Lincoln Park 2520 as a 39-story tower with 229 residences.

Very well above ground. 5 floors. This thing could easily overtake the Ritz downtown in no time if they move at this speed. I was pleasantly surprised when I went by this Sunday afternoon. Sorry I didn't take pics, which basically renders my post 100% boring.

No not boring at all....its great to hear how quickly things are moving there now! I am very excited to watch this one rise. Will be so nice to see another big gap in the Lincoln Park wall filled with this hiserise!
