Quebec City under a hot hot heat!

I went to Quebec City a week ago and walked all day under a blazing sun. I don't go there often, it's as close as Montreal is but I tend to prefer the latter... However, QC have some really interesting neighbourhoods to explore... I will go back during the summer for sure!

The tour starts in Ste-Foy, often called the second downtown area

The newest building (almost finished)

Quebec Bridge and Pierre-Laporte Bridge

Ste-Foy and Downtown Quebec in the distance

Sillery and its posh houses

Montcalm Neighbourhood, inner city

An area formerly known as "Place Bardy" is a housing project north of Downtown, a culturally diverse neighbourhood in an otherwise overwhelmingly white city

St-Sauveur neighbourhood in the lower part of the city

Steep climb to upper city

Old city

Grande-Allée, where you will find restaurants, patios and nightclubs!

Back in Lower City

The last photos show Ste-Foy again

a quickr pickr post

Thanks for watching!

That is a scene you do NOT see often in Qebec city

Great thread, its very refreshing to see the true neighbourhoods of Quebec and not just the old city that we always see.

Nice pictures. Quebec City seems like it has a lot of great neighborhoods, on top of Vieux Quebec.

Beautiful thread. As a resident of Quebec City, I was so glad to see the wonderful neighbourhoods of my town, especially St. Sauveur. I just went for a stroll there yesterday and there are so many little gems everywhere you look.

Thanks again!

Great to see pics of everyday life in a housing project under a sunny sky, unlike the usual media stereotypes of social housing.

Also, I love this angle.

Very interesting to see a fair amount of photos outside of the Old City. I love Old City Quebec, but I like seeing some of what exists outside of that area as well. Thanks for posting these great photos!

Good stuff. QC outside the old city is great, especially the Lower City.

Ste-Foy looks horrible, though.

Thanks for those! Honestly don't think I knew what the city looked like outside of old town and downtown.

I'll be driving through Quebec City en route to Halifax...definitely would like to make La Belle Ville, a stopover indeed!
