The construction on this building looks so cool when viewed from the West. 4 different cranes all at differing heights. This is a fun one to watch rise (finally).

Enjoy those tower 4 shots from atop tower 1 while you still can.
Once tower 3 is up . . that greatest of all vantage-points of tower 4 will be kaput.
Tower 4 looks so sleek & angular . . pristine and reflective of the city around it . .
when you see both north and west faces of tower 4 coming together from above . .
It won't seem so impressively crisp when tower 3 visually obliterates the north face . .
(see NYguy's Nov 3rd shots of tower 3 & tower 4 from One World Observatory.

That is true, but we may get some spectacular shots of TOWER 4 from TOWER 3 that will surprise you!

I see your point. 4 WTC is a stunning tower. A shining example of what you can make from a simple concept of geometric shapes and ultra-reflective glass. I think of it this way, we always knew 2 and 3 WTC would be constructed North of 4. The views we've had looking South thus far have been a gift, a nice bonus that only we get to experience before it is permanently changed.

4 WTC will still look great viewed from the Memorial to the West, from Zucotti Park to the East, and will likely not be blocked from the South for decades to come. In fact, I suspect you're going to have a really interesting view once 3 WTC is completed next door. The tower will reflect it's neighbor. Just wait for the first photograph looking up between the two with a blue sky above. It's going to be spectacular.

That being said, this view is stunning:

30 Park Place Tour Offers Exclusive Glimpse of Stern Tower

Quote:
The views from the upper floors of what is being billed as the tallest residential tower in downtown Manhattan are expectedly dramatic. A perfect aerial vantage point of the World Trade Center site gives us an overview of the buildings that are changing the landscape of Lower Manhattan.

Site Photos Show Progress at World Trade Center Site

Quote:
The massive redevelopment of the World Trade Center site in New York City is one of the most exciting projects under construction in the United States. The new complex is bringing six skyscrapers to the Lower Manhattan location, a venture made possible by a multitude of developers, engineers, builders and architects. On a recent trip to New York, SkyriseCities navigated the area and witnessed firsthand how the development is reshaping the neighbourhood.

It's been years since I've been to the WTC site downtown Manhattan because I found it very depressing.

It's about time!
The only thing depressing about it today is the shameless selfies being taken around the memorial pools.

Take that away, and it's actually a fairly uplifting place to be.

That sounds just as bad as taking a selfie at a cemetery.

Yes and no. Part of me hates it because it's disrespectful to the dearly departed and their families. Part of me likes it because at this tragic site in a city that suffered so dearly, it's "business as usual". We're not stuck in the past nor are we wrought with fear or anger. We're not letting it drastically change our lives as those 7th century, knuckle dragging barbarians wanted it to.

Anyways, I don't want to get too much off topic here. It seems as if steel is lagging considerably relative to the rise of the core. Any reason for that?

^ I think you guys have missed the point of the Memorial, but I'll leave that to the Memorial thread.
