There are some surprises in this article. First, the NCC has an approvals process for advertising signage?! Crazy! Unnecessary rules in my opinion. Signage should be up to the private sector partner. It's their job to make sure units get sold.

Second, the re is 80% sold? I thought the project was taking so long because they weren't selling.

Overall, this article confirms why people don't like doing business with the NCC.

Those new renderings are nice!

I walked by the sales centre the other day and this sign was on the door.

So Ashcroft is going to build an 18 storey "uber luxury" building in roughly 1.5 years? Riiiiiiight. They couldn't even delivery 111 West within the Tarion delivery dates, and that was a smaller and much lower spec'd project.

The NCC has to ask Canadians what they think about the project before they can start construction.

Of course! We wouldn't want to have the good people of Kuujjuaq, Québec to disapprove of a boutique condo/hotel tower in our Federal Capital.

BTW, will they incorporate the older building west of TD (former theatre) or just replicating/reinstating the façade?

I believe they are "creatively" reinstating the façade to its pre-theatre appearance, ignoring the fact that the building was part of the Centre Theatre for most of its life.
