True open skies would turn Winnipeg into a spoke of Minneapolis/St. Paul for all international flights/USA flights.

Open skies is theoretical at best. It is a thing lots of governments like to talk about but very few walk the walk.

It'll go by quicker than you think. Hell, in 2 1/3 months I will be done school forever! All things are relative, and I know I can't wait to fly into the new JAR international airport!

And forking over $20 for it every time we go through the airport. What a racket.

Better than the government spending of 3 times that amount and wasting 2/3 in buractraic mess.. like they do with everything else.

Half a billion dollar airport improvements aren't free .... but will pay off big time.

9/11 created a huge tax grab... the government added significant fees to tickets after it happened, but only use 1/3 for airport and flight security.

At least the $20 fee added by the WAA is going to something tangible. Something which regular users of the airport will enjoy.. and something visitors to our city will be impressed with. Something Winnipegers will be proud of.

Probably one of the sexiest (if not, THE sexiest) airports in Canada, once finished.
