I love the medieval streetplan still in use, even if they are now 8 lane highways. Many were originally drawn out by the meandering path of a cow to its water hole.

That's some serious light manipulation. Looks great, IMO. Cool city. The inner core never ceases to boggle my mind when I stare at it.

That's the Lloyd's Building, an oil refinery-esque piece of architecture for The City. Its inside-out, with all the elevators, service ducts and vents on the outside, and every screw itself individually designed:










the exterior elevators and stairwells





The inside is just as industrial









but also surprising




all in all not bad for a building designed in the 1970s

In one of those pictures it looks like they were saving the facades of some of those buildings they were taking down. Glad to see they are saving something from those buildings because what makes London so unique is its low rise historic streets. Anyways, those pics are amazing and I think I have seen some of those in National Geographic before, especially the top one, I know Ive seen that photo somewhere before.
