The project is going to start next year. Keelung city government has spent more than 4 years to plan these redeveloped projects, we should give credit to mayor.

It cost 14 billion NT dollars about 4000 million US dollars.
It will take a long time to finish this project because the old train station is going to be relocated in 100m away and the new building will be built.

only $400million?? hmm...that's pretty cheap considering it looks like a major development complex. land, materials and labor must be really cheap in taiwan!

Speaking of the Keelung train station...does anyone know if there are any plans to extend the HSR to Keelung?

Gate of Taipei is about 40 billion NT dollars (1.2 billion US dollars), but it is only for superstructure.

And for Keelung train station redevelopment.
http://twur.cpami.gov.tw/urquery/g-b...px?CASEID=MQ==

The investment money is 14.5 billion NT dollars.

Both of them are BOT projects, so the money I am talking is the money the private developers may invest. (Cost estimating)

Aother 33f tower add for Keelung and it will go for international competition.

Looks like Keelung has just as much trouble getting big ideas off the ground as its sister city. The project looks pretty cool though. I hope it succeeds.

Maybe our city councils can share experiences next time they meet.

I finally find the construction photo for National Museum of Marine Science and Technology. And this project won the prize in Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies

The museum is built on old thermal power plant. The concrete part at the front of the project in the rendering is actually the structure of power plant.
