That's just creating false wealth like letting in poor immigrants is creating false poverty.
Also, why are just implying so many things. I never said I was playing "false detective". You're just attacking me rather than attacking my arguments. "We're supposed to be better than that" when I say bringing in poor people makes poverty exist in Canada is not an argument.

That's because your arguments are dumb.
Period.
But just to be clear I was attacking them and not you personally, because like I've said they were dumb arguments.
Let's unpack just how dumb.
Refugees are by definition, poor - i.e people who've lost everything they own (including their very homes) due to war in their countries.
Should we close our doors to them to since (by your idiotic logic) letting them in, is essentially "importing poverty"?
Are you even listening to yourself?
What the hell's the matter with you?
That's the basic grain of your logic right there.
This discussion had NOTHING to do with immigrants at all.
Especially poor immigrants.
That's something that YOU wedged into it because you had an axe to grind when it wasn't related to what was being discussed.
And the only point at which you brought into the discussion rich immigrant investors was when I actually mentioned them in my comment, by way of making a point.
Don't sit there and act like they were part of the point you were making when it's apparent they weren't even part of your original comment or point.
Stop trying to insult people's intelligence here.
We can see right through you.
And yes, I'll repeat :
We're supposed to be better than that.
And that includes calling out people when they decide they want to pick on those they deem weaker and less able to defend themselves by way of looking for scapegoats to blame for problems they have nothing to do with.
Like you're trying to do here.
Nobody here argues the fact that the people who vandalized that building broke the law, and that they, like the activists, are probably going about this whole thing with raising their issues with the housing crisis the wrong way, particularly if they hope to win over the support of neutral parties who might otherwise agree with them.
But at the same time, who does it benefit scapegoating the wrong people for it or for the larger issue with the housing situation.
Are poor immigrants driving up housing and real estate values in GVA? (or anywhere else for that matter?)
And if your beef is really with the rich immigrant investors then why didn't you make your comment just about them or even mention them at all until I brought it up?
I think we all know the answer to those questions.
