Wow, Lsyd.... I don't think anyone will be topping this comprehensive Birmingham thread anytime soon... Amazing!!

Birmingham is soo much more diverse in architecture and history than I used to ever know...

cool, glad you enjoy the photos. i'd always thought bham was a small hick town, even after a high school teacher said otherwise, until i saw randy sanford's photos on here a few years ago.

very nice collection.. Birmingham is very big and nice, (and not trying to dis) but I havent seen much new development. All of the large buildings look like they were constructed a few decades ago. Are there any new proposals in the works?

well, all of the large buildings were; lots of conversions are happening now of the pre-war skyscrapers. plenty of 8-12ish story towers have been built recently, and other infill, which is great to see, although not as glamorous as the new 18 story tower planned by the federal courthouse.

You did a great job. I don't think its ugly, a little worn looking perhaps but it's not the wealthiest place on the planet.
