Thus 2016 has been a most interesting year in Western politics. From growing security threats, to growing isolationist movements and Brexit, the West is mired in a robust set of challenges. All of this, and the recent Brexit results have put Scotland at a crossroads. Will the Scots be able to stay in the EU? Will they Secede from the UK, and make Edinburgh the world's next national capital? Only time will tell, but for now we can enjoy this incredible city.

Don't worry... we'll get to you soon enough
The Lothian town of Dalkeith, just outside of Edinburgh
Enough burbiage… on the bus back to town.
As if the Scottish Parliament itself wasn’t stunning enough, the backdrop of Arthur’s Seat is like having a snip of The Highlands in the city.
A right proper Back Bencher!!
This was the first small group of Yes campaigners that I spotted marching down Princes Street. Over the next few days the groups, while quiet and respectful, seemed to multiply across the city. A movement that the SNP and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon are surely watching closely.
A proper send-off via Edinburgh Castle
