NOOOO! How could they get rid of the x bracing! its looks faceless now! WHAT FOOLS! it could have been a recognisable new york icon.

Id reather it not even be built in the first place now, just leave it with 1 and 4 and put some mall in between it. im pissed now

Yeah, you really don't know what the rebuilding is about. It's not about if something doesn't fit your taste, don't build it. New York lost 11msf of office space a decade ago. This tower will be just a portion of that, but it must be rebuilt. Besides, I doubt just throwing a "mall" in between the towers would look any better or any more suited for the site and Manhattan in general.

Well North One, someone's a little tardy to the party I don't really mind the loss of the bracing. I think that this assists in making the tower look more like it's part of a cohesive complex. It would be as if one of the two shorter buildings flanking the approach to Rockefeller Plaza from 5th Avenue were built in a totally different design style. It would then take away from the overall effect of the complex and distract from the overall feeling. Not to say that this was an unattractive proposal before, or that it diminished the effect of the complex. I'm just saying the loss of the bracing didn't hurt anything, IMO.

STR, I know it's probably stupid of me to tell you as you probably already know, but don't get rid of your original 3WTC renderings in the possibility this is all just a joke! X)

Does anyone know if there will be a light at the top of the 175 Greenwich building like the John Hancock Center in Chicago?

Since people keep asking questions about the New W.T.C. light scheme I thought I should post some pictures from the World Trade Center website.

I do like how 4 WTC's lighting scheme compliments the rest of the site.

Same here! It will be so awesome when they get it built if they film behind the scenes of the top of how the WTC 2 building is lit.

For some reason lately, I have had an obsession with knowing what the roof of buildings look like..

Facade detail of new 3WTC model.

Old model vs new. While I'm obviously still working on the details of the latter, it's enough to show off overall differences between the designs.

Like I said before, I think they've chopped the height down to 1,170' total. I'm tired of counting floors and measuring proportions, so if someone else can reconcile this official render from RRS with a 1,240' height, I'd be curious to hear your reasoning.

Why would they shave the height of the building?
