Man that was one crazy goal by Hassli. I think goals are a subjective thing as some I've seen are labeled as amazing but I wouldn't rate them that.
For me, my favourite of all time is Beckham v Greece from 30 yards out on a free kick in injury time that qualified England for 2002 WC.

No surprise that goal wins Goal Of The Week. Thierry Henry was second. Reading the WFC site, that goal got some major worldwide attention. My friend in England said it was all over football news there.

-1.23 million website blog reactions

-by the end of June 15, with over 506 articles composed across North American news outlets including: The Vancouver Sun, The New York Times, The Montreal Gazette, The Seattle Times, The Miami Herald, Fox Sports, ESPN and Sports Illustrated, among others.

-By Thursday afternoon, the compilation of YouTube videos totalled nearly 4.7 million views from 30 different videos posted on the global video website.

How could the Thierry Henry goal come second? He made some decent moves to set it up, but the goal itself is very plain.

Completely....Graham Zusi's free kick from the near the middle of the pitch should have come second or Gordon from TFC should be ahead of Henry.

This whitecaps fc team is a complete joke. USL roster playing in top tier football league in north america. that transfer window is really important. they need some better players, cause the guys they have now - simply isn't good enough to compete with other MLS teams.

I'd bet money that something big will happen within the next week or two.

Today's Canadian Championship was the final straw. I am no longer going to try to watch soccer. Watching the Whitecaps this season has reminded me once again why I can't respect soccer. I gave it an honest try this season (I watched every Whitecaps game, including a few Premier Leauge and non-Whitecaps MLS games). But I can no longer stand the horrible officiating. And I just can't stand some of the rules in soccer that prevent it from being a better game. There's just too much injustice on the field and too many frustrating rules in the sport. It's ultimately an unpleasurable experience.

The Whitecaps are really turning into the Bad News Bears of soccer. Painful.

Just a hunch. The Duze mentioned last week, during a game, they were trying to get a player or two... he didn't go into detail. I figure with the way the season has gone, there is a lot more pressure to make something happen.

They've certainly shot themselves in the foot a few times. I never did have high expectations for this first mls season, but was hoping for a few more wins. It is unfortunate to see some of our best players out with injuries on an ongoing basis.

Two new players added to the roster. Hopefully this helps the caps turn things around.

Whitecaps Sign First Ever African Designated Player

And

Jordan Harvey from the Philadelphia Union.

This better not be the only additions the team is making. They need a midfielder, who can get the forwards the ball. is one more player announcement coming the cap's way? or is this it?

i'm pretty upset with how the first season has gone. 2 wins?? that's pretty bad. we are worse than TFC, which is saying something. i'm still hopeful that next year will be better (MUCH better), but they better have something in place before next season to demonstrate that they've made improvements or else their fan base may continue to dwindle.

the Lions are 0-2 to start the season, the 'Caps are 2-10-8. Some other pro sports options would be nice. haha. maybe the NBA in the future.

I could see more changes before the end of the season. Like you said, the forwards are not getting a lot of good service from the midfield. Adding a quality midfielder would do wonders. Mustapha has had experience playing as a mid, but it sounds like he's more a natural striker.

The MLS released its attendance figures for this season. The Whitecaps are 4th in league attendance so far in the league of 18 teams. Once the dome re-opens, they should overtake 3rd spot and possibly find themselves in the #2 spot by season's end. (trailing only the ridiculous numbers posted by Seattle so far). Not bad for an expansion team that has struggled on the field of play
