^I've been to LA several times, and it never looks like that. Courtesy of a telephoto lens.

LA is in about 75% of the lists which have been posted.

No doubt it's getting its due.

I had WAY too much time on my hands today at work, so I went over the (serious) lists that everyone posted. See where your favorite skylines stack-up against the majority. Here are the results so far:

10 points for 1st place, 9 points for 2nd place, 8 points for 3rd place, etc...
It's a very close race between NYC and Chicago! Toronto is solidly in third place. I'll update it later on if more lists continue to be posted.

Sorry to burst your bubble Caltrane, but LA is not even on 50% of the lists... but I placed it 4th on my own list.

When mentioning Panamá, I wasn't sure whether it fits in everyone's definition of North America. Do we include Central America and the Carribeans?

I didnt do it to make you look like anything... lol But I do offer an apology.

I wish more people thought of LA when they think about North American skylines. Like I said, I think LA has an awesome skyline, but the rest of the SSP community has not endorsed that opinion. Of course, being on the Canada page, I'm not surprised to see 3 Canadian cities in the top 6 either.

LA has a nice skyline but it is small for a metro of its size.

There's something about LA that makes me want to just drive down there. For some reason I have this idea that being in LA just 'feels' different than any other city, as I said, just something about it.

Ah the miracle of moving pictures and music. LA is a mirage.

To me LA felt a lot like other sunbelt cities, but just much more of it. It seems to lack the chaotic urbanity of other similar-size metro areas I've visited. But I do like the skyline, even if it's small for the city's size. the '90s were very kind to downtown LA in my opinion.

It's kinda like Vancouver. LA is a downtown, but then most of it's major suburban communities, like Anaheim, Orange, etc., all have their downtowns too. It isn't centrally focused like Toronto or Chicago.

Architecturally speaking, the city has many great examples of Post Modernism, and for that reason it would rank high on my list. I'm also shocked at the lack of Atlanta! It has a great skyline, architecturally speaking.
