21-42, but CU gave UNC a sniff of a win at one point...

If we play like that against Washington we're gonna get devoured.

I expect CU will lose to Washington, but they haven't looked unbeatable either. They're good but they also have obvious and serious weaknesses (for example, no running game). They're not Alabama.

I predict a low-scoring game that comes down to turnovers.

Well your prediction was very true for 30 minutes. Then Montez kept turning the ball over.

Man, CU Football shows again that last year was an outlier and has regressed to the mean for the program, i.e. a bottom conference standing.

From coach of the year to going for it on 4th and 10 to running down the sideline to scream at ref for the next 10 minutes....this program is falling apart...yuck.

Don't jinx it!

But - Last weekend might have been one of the most entertaining games I have watched in Boulder in a long time - even the games against WSU and Utah last year weren't as fun as the 100+ yard pick 6 or 65yd. bomb that Montez threw to "Big Play Shay". The weather was perfect for football and the atmosphere was fabulous for the retirement ceremony for #19 in honor of Rashan Salaam.

Let's hope the good buffs are here for the rest of the season - it would make that 2pm kick against USC a lot more fun for senior day!

Going 0-for-Arizona is embarrassing.

Anyway, the Colorado/Utah game will probably be a play-in game for a bowl berth, for whichever teams wins. IIRC that's two years in a row the game will be meaningful to both teams. What can we do to cement this rivalry?

That bottom ranked conference teams, both scraping .500) can compete for a bowl appearance shows that a) there's too many goddamn bowl games (40 I believe), and b) the PAC is riding on some historical coattails this this year.

Playoff expansion is so needed with corresponding bowl reduction. The chaff needs to slink off into the offseason if they aren't challenging in a conference division, not playing in the Sam's Tuscon Bail Bonds Dumpster Bowl

Probably kick them back down to the Mountain West where they belong and promote CSU, that might do it.

Playoff discussions generally avoid the piddling little detail that college is about education.

Yes. Eight game playoff. Conference champions from the power 5 (or 6 if that should happen) with the other slots being at large invites.

Is it? I am pretty sure college is about entertainment (for all ages) and money. And perhaps also just keeping a generally useless demographic out of the workforce for 4-5 years longer.

There wouldn’t be communications degrees if colleges were about education.

I am fully opposed to any playoff scheme that regularly results in teams with 2 or more losses making it in. Those teams have played their way out of a national championship and do not remotely deserve the chance to get hot at the end and win it all. I would sooner go back to the BCS.

I only grudgingly accept a playoff scheme where 1-loss teams regularly make it in.

I think a 6 team playoff could work, with first round byes for numbers 1 and 2.

Given the usual standings in the Power 5, that shouldn't be a problem.

Agreed - that allows for all power 5 champions and 1 at large (ND perhaps). It would also allow for one of those undefeated group of 5 teams to potentially play which could be fun and give them something to play for.
