Not sure if this is the appropriate place for this, but I know of a couple resources (both online and books) that may be of interest to those of you who like urban planning/sim city games.
Books:
"Hypothetical City Workbook III", by Ann-Margaret Esnard.
-Includes many detailed maps of a completely hypothetical city of 10,000, as well as a little bit of demographic information. Also comes with a disc that includes downloads for the computer. Interesting resource for those who are interested in urban planning.
"Local Government in Action: A Simulation", by Bill Kennedy and Garn Wilson.
-Focuses on the fictional city of "Summerville" in the fictional province of "Cascadia". The book is more Canadian-focused and includes a map, "roles" for in classes and a brief history of the city.
"American Urban Form: A Representative History", by Sam Bass Warner
-The book is more American-centred, and is an amalgam of the development of New York City, Philadelphia and Boston into one fictional metropolis of a few million. It is less usable in the classroom and is more of a study of the development of American cities.
Online simulations:
"Fake Omaha", by Neil Greenberg
-Not so much a simulation, but still an interesting project. Has a very detailed map of a fictional city, but unfortunately the "explore" links are broken.

"Lincoln County Data Set", from the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy
-Includes brief write up of the county and communities in it as well as a map.

"Rivertown Simulation", by Norm Tyler
-Fairly detailed profile of a fictional community in Appalachia. Includes many files and downloads that focus on the community and its development plans.

"Brynania" simulation, from McGill University
-A peacebuilding simulation that is very class-oriented. Includes a write up of the fictional country of Brynania and its equally fictional neighbours. Also included are many convincing articles from well-known media organizations like CNN, Globe and Mail, New York Times, etc. that detail the suffering in Brynania's ongoing civil war.

"Carana" simulation, used by the World Bank and some UN agencies
-Perhaps the most detailed of all simulations. If you need a fictional country to use for whatever reason this is it! For those who don't know geography well, they might think they are reading about a real country.
