And the Penguins want our first (!!) for Fleury.

I think we'd be better off signing Reimer.

I'm skeptical of the market, but am willing to give it a chance. Unlike Phoenix they will be located in a central location in an actual hockey arena, not ill-suited basketball arena.
It may end up working, but it's still a gamble.

Las Vegas only has half the population of Phoenix.

But there is more pro sports competition in Phoenix for sure.

Las Vegas does have UNLV college sports that draw CFL-sized crowds for football and (lower rung) NHL-sized crowds for basketball.

Milan Lucic will not be resigning with Los Angeles. If the Oilers could sign him, this would be a huge breakthrough imo.

Canucks want him too, to play with the Sedins. Obviously with Lucic being from Van, we have a decent shot at him. Edmonton's not too far away, and with McDavid, they will be contenders in a few years, so I'm sure Lucic is looking seriously at the Oilers.

You all ready for what's about to go down this weekend?? Almost every Canadian team should be doing a bunch of wheeling and dealing with the draft and trades! And big trades at that!

I'm ready. It should be entertaining. I wonder how the specter of next year's expansion draft will affect things as well.

Happy draft day everyone!

Rumour: Sounds like the Flames are already trying to get rid of Dougie Hamilton?

Two things I want to happen:

Edmonton trading #4 for Subban
Calgary trading #6 for Fleury

Two things I know will never happen:

Edmonton trading #4 for Subban
Calgary trading #6 for Fleury

Draft is going to be a blast tonight regardless.

I think I'd rather have the pick. Rumour has it Fleury doesn't want to come here anyway...

Edmonton will have to give up more then the #4 pick to get Subban.

Oilers with some lady luck and a fantastic pick in Puljujarvi!

I am still a bit shocked at Columbus' choice there. Dubois is gonna be great, no doubt, but they skipped the better player! Essentially made the Oilers moving down in the lottery a non-sequitor, and probably an incredible feeling for Oiler fans yesterday I can imagine...congrats to you guys!

Now if they can only bring in some quality defence men, things will be looking good.

compared to where he is from, it actually is! lol

Laine is gonna be a special player. A key missing piece for the Jets...the biggest missing need has arguably been found in a generational talent goal scorer and PP threat.

Really happy with how the Flames did in Buffalo, Tkachuck is a hell of a pick and Elliott should be the goalie we have needed since Kipper hung up his skates.

The Oil did well, surprised they didn't trade any of their old picks though. With the new building and some new blood (the right kind this time!) they should finally start to move up in the standings. Can't wait for the BoA this year, should be getting back to the good ole days!

They've still got no defence.

Oilers have traded Taylor Hall to NJ for Adam Larsson

Peter Chiarelli has now traded away the #1 (Hall) and #2 (Seguin) picks in the 2010 Draft
