Took this late September 2012. Nice to see the shiny sliver on Eddy peeking through in the Gatineau skyline

Nice shot! What is the red brick building just below the Parliament Buildings?

Very beautiful.
Where was it taken from? Lemieux Island? Prince of Wales Bridge?

The brick building is the Lemieux island water purification plant. I took the photo from the eastern tip of Bate island — actually the river is so low you can walk out pretty far from the regular shore. From this angle and distance, the depth of field melds the buildings together, but I particularly like the way the spires and copper roofs are dominant and the crystal hall of the National Gallery looks like it's on the other side. Someone with a better camera should go out there and take a nicer shot.

The angle is very flaterring to Gatineau's skyline, it makes it seems like our downtown is one big cluster rather than having a gap between Portage and TC.

If a picture is taken of the Ottawa skyline from the Parc des Portageurs, just west of the old Eddy Building where the bicycle path to Aylmer starts and the old portage path still is, all that is seen west of the Parliament Hill precinct is a massive wall of tall buildings, all about the same height and with no particular interesting features. Not very inspiring.

Lets hope that the Cathedral Hill project will add some values in front of that wall of buildings. It's not postcard pretty.

Great shots and great idea. I like the tag line Batman tour of Ottawa - though wouldn't Spiderman be more apropos?

I was biking downtown today and took this pano from Laurier Bridge showing all the downtown cranes that can be seen from this vantage point.

Nice photo Kitchissippi. I have never seen so much construction activity in downtown Ottawa. It will be interesting to see how this city develops over the next 5-10 years with so many major projects going on (light rail, Rideau expansion, Lansdowne, Preston-Carling, etc..).

Great shot Kitch, lots of activity down at that end of CBD this year. Next year it will be the West side with a bunch of cranes (Lebreton, Bayview, Gotham....).

This might not be considered "sweet", but it's the downtown skyline from Hintonburg. You can see the cranes for Cathedral Hill, Tribeca, Soho Lisgar; and in between the buildings you can see Performance Court.
