It's a substantial building, but looks bigger than it is because there's nothing tall around it. When topped out, it will likely not make the list of world's 200 tallest buildings.

Right now, according to the SSP database, including proposed towers, Aura is way back at #353. Only counting Built and U/C, Aura is at #230. There is nothing at all likely about it being in the top 200 in any way.

If you go by real height, and don't count thin spires, it will definitely make the top 200

Will be great to see this one overtake the other buildings around it in height soon...as Caltrane said, it's already taller than the Delta Chelsea, so it won't be long now until it starts asserting itself a little in the skyline when viewed from a distance...

Nothing? I think you should reconsider that wording. Like BraveNewWorld mentioned, by roof height it most certainly is currently ranking #176 built & u/c in the world.

http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?...070&offset=175

And its also just as likely to be withing the top 200 by highest occupied floor.

The message seems to be getting lost in the details. 176th, 230th, 353rd... the point is that this isn't one of the world's massive skyscrapers. It's big, but nothing noteworthy.

Ok, so what about the statistic that it will be the tallest residential building in all of Canada then...that's not bad in my book.

Not to offend but who cares if its in the top 200 tallest buildings in the world. Its any awesome building for toronto and a very tall building for toronto in the top 5 at least in the city. It will make an awesome addition to the skyline

Yeah, top 200 is cool. What really matters is the complete or "Big Picture" and Toronto has at the very least a top 15 skyline because we have a wide range of tall buildings, over 200 meters.. and growing.

Height doesn't matter at all. People should look at, and appreciate the architectural qualities of buildings across the globe, not worry or complain about the height. But would it be nice if we did have a supertall, everybody has to admit that.

When all is said and done, this will be a very sharp looking building IMHO. Sure some may be better than others, but Toronto has a really wonderful skyline. Even the more so-so buildings are pretty impressive...

I'm pretty impressed by the podium when I walked by today in person. The white cladding contrasts beautifully with the sapphire colored curtainwall. Too bad the stone wasn't laid in a classier pattern. It's a boring grid pattern thus far.
