We need some site pics. I drove past here a little while back and saw no signs of activity or excavation. Hopefully that has changed.

It looks like there are some flatbed trucks and construction material storage at the site but not much else.

thats probably for the temple. They have been using part of the parking lot for staging for quite some time.

Honestly, don't think there's anything happening there yet. This is admittedly not a ton of help. But you can still see cars/trailers/equipment parked on the property for the Church. From today,

P.S. - If the archdiocese needs extra money, they can sell that prime parking lot (visible in the lower left corner of that frame) at 17th and Vine there for a pretty penny.

^^^Correct.

Just walked by, plenty of machinery and materials on site (assuming for the Church), but nothing going on for the apt tower.

Patience (trying my best).

Work in progress signs are up. Jersey Barriers and fencing is going up. There is machinery/excavators on site.

I would assume we'll see work starting shortly.

The sign shows a completion date of December 2017 for the tower...3 years from today. Does this sound correct?

I hope they anticipate a long construction period for the tower, but it could also mean that the serious apt work could start later than the chapel building next door.

Could be, this is a huge project. Besides going up 370ft, there is a lot of other components and I would expect the materials to be top notch.

Will they be having similar construction rules about no coffee and smoking as they do with the temple project?

IMO, from what I have read and seen on this forum, the LDS builds amazing developments. This project is going to be a great addition to Philly.

everything looks good. This was one project I really didnt fear being delayed though. It will make a huge difference at this intersection and the views from this building will be great.

I passed by the site Sunday and there were many steel beams on the ground, the ones used for building the perimeter retaining walls, so digging out the foundation must be very close at hand

More like they have the heart to build quality.

Good to hear. I saw the steel beams and construction vehicles on site when I drove past on Saturday. Glad to see this parking lot disappear.
