One of the last parcels on Washington Ave in the Mill District has a proposal. Not bad! Would be a nice addition to this neighborhood...

LEGACY CONDOMINIUMS | 8, 15, 18 Stories | Mill District

This project has received city council's blessing.Though we are going to see a massive dark structure at the eastern end of the Mill District, it will add much needed density and will get us a step closer towards reaching our goal of landing 75K residents in downtown by 2025 as envisioned by the city leaders.

Target Center Renovation

Target Center Renovation...

http://www.startribune.com/target-ce...cil/372569901/

The renovation will redo the exterior of the building, create a glassy new entranceway, add crucial loading dock space, reconfigure some interior fan areas and add more premium amenities. About $102.8 million of the $128.9 million cost, which rose last year, is for the construction itself, and the rest is for other project costs.

Alatus Riverfront Condo Tower l 40fl l Northeast Minneapolis

A planned 40-story condo tower that would be built along the Minneapolis riverfront cleared another hurdle Friday, as the City Council formally overturned the decision of a historic preservation panel that had blocked the plans.

Alatus, the developer of the project, had appealed the earlier decision of the city’s Heritage Preservation Commission. That group had approved the demolition of the Washburn McReavy funeral home, located on the site of the project, but determined that the tower would be too tall for the St. Anthony Falls Historic District.

Last week, a council committee reversed the height ruling and the council voted 12-0 on Friday to allow the plans to move forward. Developers intend to begin construction as soon as this fall, though the council must still provide final approval on the land-use plans for the site.

Ryan Office Tower l 17fl l 728 Fourth St S.

Ryan Cos. US Inc. plans to build a 17-story office building in downtown Minneapolis on a sliver of land next to U.S. Bank Stadium.

The $90 million project would be built on the "Block 1 Liner Parcel" at 728 Fourth St. S., Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority Chair Michele Kelm-Helgen said at Friday's MSFA meeting.

Having left Minneapolis in 1993, after living there 21 years, I appreciate the updates. Thanks!

Obviously, the city council members are much more pro-growth than when I used to go to city council meetings back in the early 70's

Good to see them overriding the desires of the historical preservationists, as approval for the 40 story tower on the north side of the river.

I wish they had been that progressive back in the early 70's, as I still cry over the halted construction of the 9 additional phases of Cedar Square West, where I lived at the time.
