True... NO DOUBT !

And they stated that in their picture, it only included RESIDENTIAL TOWERS (and they even stated themselves that Trump did NOT make their picture because it was a HOTEL AND RESIDENCES).... YET! The Ritz is in the picture and it is a HOTEL AND RESIDENCE tower!!! ... plus, 1 King west is also mixed use

We need guys working for newspapers that actually KNOW their skyscrapers !

That was my skyscrapergeek rant!

Or a journalist. The National Post shouldn't complain that they aren't taken seriously when they hire people who use words they don't know the meaning of. Journalism 101? It's stuff like this that makes them look like a joke.

I can picture there defense now: "It's not our fault. We just don't know what the words we use mean."

One King is not mixed-use. It's a hotel under condominium ownership. An arguement can be made for Maple Leaf Square though.

It's unlikely but not impossible that Aura is actually 243 metres.

your all right... but you know what? that daigram was probably provided by the developers of aura, and they want to claim its the tallest resedental, which it isn't. so they used the excuse that the trump is mixed use, and as long as they're the tallest, who cares who is in second and third and forth and so on?

As far as I'm concerned, AURA will be the 2nd tallest residential.

Actually, somebody at SSC who supposedly has the inside scoop said some months ago that the floor count had been increased to 62.

I heard something like 59 or 62... on of those...

But the floors don't matter as much as the HUGE spire/mechanical to top it off!

Okay. I was lucky enough to get over to some construction sites yesterday.. even though it was overcast it didn't really rain !

Aura:

Pure EPIC.... The hole has gotten HUGE!... seriously... and the walkway over by the shops at college park is like hanging above the excavation which makes it even more awesome! I never really realized the true scale of this thing till i saw it! I'd like to think of it as the "EPICNESS" of NY's ground zero... Just a huge hole (for toronto)!!! And I LOVE how everyone who passes by stops to take a minute to look down! Glad to see this one getting ALOT of attention!:

***didn't get too many updates for this one...

I heard about 4 stories over at UT.. and right now it looks 3 floors down for the majority of the site! which can only mean we're way past half way for excavation

I can see early foundations being poured in the fall !

Hope so It'll make up for the sluggishness of some of the other projects.

How deep is this excavation going to be? I'm guessing fairly deep for the height and weight this building is going to be...

I said 4 previously but whipper snapper said its going to be about 5 (not much of a difference ) but just for the picky people "5" to be safe

Excavation is very speedy! This is probably the second biggest eyesore (or was, when it was a parking lot) next to One Bloor imo... just because both sites are so huge...
