Payette Whitewater and Boiling Springs ~ Idaho

Photos I took while on a drive to Boiling Springs in the Garden Valley area within the Boise National Forest. Garden Valley is an hours drive into the mountains north of Boise. The road from town is a slow driving and winding highway over the pass and down to the Payette River.

South Fork, Payette River. Headwaters are in the Sawtooth Mountains.

Middle Fork, Payette River

A waterfall in the canyon before Boiling Springs

where the falling creek meets the river

Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse

Thanks. I am hoping to hit the South Fork Canyon run with a few friends this summer.

What a nasty forest fire season we have had this year! I hope they find the idiot(s) who started the fire near your photos at Skinny Dipper Hotsprings and publically whip and humuliate them before hopefully sentencing them to years in prison.
