Developer Proposes Future For Unused Churchill Square Property

I'm putting it here as this thread hasn't been posted in for a while. I think it's East End anyways....

The old Dominion in Churchill Square may be in for a face lift.

The developer, KMK Properties Inc., has submitted a proposal to St. John’s City Council to turn the old property into a six-storey, multi-use building. The new development’s ground level would be for commercial use while the other five storeys would be reserved as rental units.

The news story also links to the City Council Agenda (Page 27):

LOL... just noticed this was already posted on the main thread page a couple days ago. Late to the party again....

It's probably been discussed here previously, but what's being built on Hebron Way next to the KMK/Milestones/Canadian Tire area? Probably another office building - just wondering if anyone knows specifics. I know another office development has been proposed on the airport side of Canadian Tire as well.

Not sure if this has been discussed but does anyone know what’s being built by Roncalli school in Airport Heights? On Airport Heights Drive? Is it an office building? Apartment building? Sorry if it’s been discussed already and I missed it - scanned the threads but didn’t see anything.

The new office building being built next to Canadian Tire on White Rose Drive. This was the former site of the proposed Empire Cinemas before its sale to Cineplex which killed the notion of building in the east end. It's neat how the prefab walls for all floors go up before any of the floors are built. It's a quick process too. From what I can tell, there is a quite a large underground parking garage too. I think.

Couple of pics of the new retirement complex on Airport Heights Drive which is right next door to Roncolli School. It certainly changes the street view of the area.

I haven't seen precast concrete walls this high before, only 2 stories I think, elsewhere around St. John's/Mount Pearl. Quick, like you say.

I know. I happened to be at Canadian Tire yesterday and was looking at it and it looks very sketchy. They even have a couple of skinny sections of the wall up to the 4 stories. It doesn't look right but I guess it must be a tested method.

Proposed Seven-Story Seniors' Apartment

According to the Council and Committee agenda for January 21st(today), there's a decision on a proposed seven-story seniors apartment consisting of 72 units for 45 East White Hills Rd. Anyone have any further info on this proposed development?

Escape Room - Trapped

Saw sign for this place going up downtown the other day:

www.trapped.ca

Located on 3rd floor above Jack Axes on Water Street. I've done escape rooms in the past and they're a blast....this makes 3 locations in the city.

Holy cow! I know escape rooms are fun, but are they really that popular here? Seems to me there could be market saturation.

Anyone know if there's a tenant for the building Lindsay Construction is building just past the Crosbie building on Hebron Way? Prefab concrete going up quick.

That would be the ExxonMobil building I believe?

Haven't been up there in ages.

Nope, Exxon is in between Verafin and Can Tire, this building is past the roundabout on the right. Not sure if there's a tenant yet so just wondering.
