Blah, posting my own photo. I have better ones from tonight, but I haven't been able to get them off the camera yet.

To add, here's a quick and poorly done panorama. The original is about 15x as large (15,000 pixels across). If anyone's interested in that, maybe I can find somewhere to host it (all 7.5 megs).

You have an amazing view, seems easy to follow progress on many construction sites from that view.

^^^WOW, Great Pic. NYC skyline is always changing, for example if you take a picture of skyline today and come back next year the same month and day there will be another addition or additions to skyline.

Not quite the right angle to capture 1WTC, but, Carnegie 57 would be in that picture to the far left in a few years, hopefully Tower Verre will also grace the skyline by then.

Visible (barely) from way out in the harbor... (June 17, 2010)

I have to admit that my "view" is from wherever I happen to have access to at the time. That view is from the offices of some little known internet search provider.

Sorry to hijack the thread for a second, but this is the view the other direction (south), and followed by the view from my lawyer's office.

I don't know if you live in the city or not, but it's always fun to take photos from places, even if they're public ones, like 30 Rock or the ESB. Apparently I haven't taken photos from the top of my office since I got my new camera, so maybe later this afternoon I'll see how Beekman looks from up there.

Wow, Beekman really stands out from that angle as well. Great find!

That base is absolutely awful. We've come such a long way in design and then make a 40 year old mistake. It feels so drab at street level. Normally, I would just ignore this but after seeing a few walls around here in downtown Chicago today made of the same exact material you see here, they've weathered and stained so badly and give off this depressed appearance....yet these surfaces are just 5 years old.

The base should feel light and airy, more fine grained to bring excitement and visual stimulation to street level. The tower above can speak to a larger scale.

Sometimes I am so disappointed with my profession. We can't make these mistakes.

Even from Lower Manhattan, this tower makes a big impression.
