Nice, thanks for the pics. I always liked the simplicity of the design of this one, though a bit of colour would be nice. Coloured micro mosaic tiles on the legs would be great IMO I wonder what the interiors are like. The rental rates too.

Did you happen to see if they have started the third tower?

Much better than the first tower!

Thanks for the pics.

The first tower is such a Frankenturd, and it doesn't event have any decent lighting / signs (the least one would expect for a flagship tower connected with a stadium...)

Maybe the railing glass will be something tinted

Also, I still have no idea why there are descrencies in floor heights of the top 5 floors, weird

Maybe those higher floors with higher ceilings are more expensive. There would be a vast and largely uninterrupted view of false creek for the foreseeable future. The wood and lighting underneath is nice. Hopefully there will be spot lights from the ground on the legs too.

From when I first saw it completed, Tower one has always reminded me of Jabba The Hutt with Rogers arena as princess Leia chained up at it's base. Am I more Loony Tunes than usual or does anyone else see it?

Nope. That's the tower that's going onto the southeast corner of the arena? On the right in the pic below. I haven't noticed anything happening there yet.

My guess is that the two levels with floor to ceiling glass are the penthouse and sub-penthouse, and then the top two floors are the bedroom and family spaces for the penthouse. A 3-level penthouse does seem a bit extravagant for the location though.

That 'wood' soffit looks great! Nice and clean, and a bit of warmth.

Combined with the viaduct, there could be some really interesting covered spaces here.

what is that round cement helmet on the right of the pics?

Great pics, thanks!

**********

Here' my take on the ceiling heights -
The 4th floor down has a transfer beam for layout variations for the shortest of the "penthouse levels" (the south wing).
Since the ceiling height would be the same across the entire floorplate, that level ends up being 4 levels from the top under the west wing.
The top floors of the west wing may have transfer floors for their own layout variations.

That's the one. I'm hoping they learned from tower 1 and embraced the sinewy tower 2 design for tower 3. Also has anyone heard about tower 4 coming back online? May help to add a final good architectural element while taking away some visual prominence of the tower one blob.

I would also like to see Rogers arena reclad in something colourful once all towers are complete.

If I had to guess I'd say a public washroom

I'm fairly certain that's just an entrance to a stairwell for the parkade. The other Aquilini rental, the Santa Fe, has something similar. You can see the stairs in the floor plans from the rezoning application

From what I heard the glass isn't standard, and comes with integrated photovoltaics so maybe there's some delay in getting that product to the site
