Is there any news on Sullivan square and the Henderson group? I'm interested in the developer Glen Smith and Glen. They have a home up here in Vancouver. Any information would be appreciated.

Has the Aria Resort at CityCenter topped out? Mandarin doesn't look that far from topping out as well??

As I was flying in today it looked like both have topped out - Aria and Mandarin appeared to be the exact same height as Vdara when we passed.

The developer for Sullivan Square sued their bank for not loaning the construction money on time and backing out of the deal. The developer lost the case and now there's just a hole in the ground.

The case has been settled already? I find that hard to believe, given how slow civil processes move in this country. Last thing I heard was that the bank (Harcourt Development? my memory's a little fuzzy today) filed a counter suit.

Sullivan Square is just a big empty whole in the ground, but that's not the only property that GSG has in Las Vegas. They have several commercial properties that are either fully developed or under development now. I think they moved their offices from Howard Hughes Parkway to one of their properties off of 215 and Russel.

My gf used to work for them, and we still try to keep track of what's going on there.

update:

Found an update, a judge has thrown out 5 of the 7 claims due to the limited protections in a LLC, which the partnership was set up as.

I haven't found anything about the other two claims though.

Those dismissed claims were against Harcourt. That's a loss for Sullivan Square and a win for Harcourt. Sullivan Square has to file an amended complaint. So yeah, there is still more legal action to come, but, it's highly unlikely that Sullivan Square will get any money from Harcourt to continue building.

I don't know if it was intentional but the way the Crystals and Cosmo retail strip frontage matches together with all the angles is very cool. Even Harmon with its "pixel" appearance matches well in between the two.

Echelon is definitely on hold. They have just been stabilizing the building and taking formwork down. I am sure you won't be seeing the cranes move much longer if they even stay up. Looks like they are finishing up the Central Plant though.

Here is an exterior rendering of a club / lounge called The Deuce inside Aria:

Designed by Frankin Studios, it is a lounge attached to a high end gaming component.

There are additional interior renderings at the Franklin Studios site.

Is Fountainebleau going to have a 4th or a 13th floor? By the way, if one was to count in person, how many floors are they up to now? I'm assuming it is almost topped out...

Southwest Gas sold their Tropicana location (N/E corner of Trop/Arville)... It will be closing sometime in ths 2nd quarter of 2009.

This has been in the process for multiple years.

- cosmo now has glass on the south side of the podium - very nice

the front side is almost done with the 'glass shard' framing - that entrance is unbeleivable.

aria's the array of spikes porte cochere is now up! -

the volcanoe at mirage is almost done (by the looks of it)

the main difference is the color - no more dark / burnt brown - its now a light brown - lighter than wynn's mountain. - hte volcanoe is a big bigger too - or at least, chunkier. and there are larger fragments scattered around the lake
