The alpenglow
This phenomenon is due to the composition of the rocky walls of the Dolomites (formed from dolomite containing dolomite, a mixture of calcium
carbonate and magnesium).It is particularly well known in the summer evenings, when the air is very clear and bright sun sinks in the west.
The enrosadira phenomenon can manifest itself in significantly different ways throughout the year, and even can vary from one day to the other.These
variations of colors and durability enrosadira, are due to the different positions of the sun throughout the year and atmospheric conditions.This phenomenon
manifests itself on all the Dolomites; especially at dawn alpenglow appears on the crags facing east, while at sunset are the walls facing west to color magically.
Etymology
The term alpenglow, which literally means "becoming rose-colored" comes from the word Ladin rosadüra or enrosadöra
