Mafia mortar strikes again?? Reminds me of the poor woman getting killed by falling masonary at the sushi bar.

Poor guy!

There was an expert on the radio today who was saying that old flat-roofed structures are susceptible to this. He said that if there are drainage problems, the water seeps behind the brick and weakens it.

Better up the inspections or we may be in for more of this.

Thought I'd share this short 1942 film with y'all.

Its an NFB film celebrating the 300th anniversary of the city. It contains some high quality colour vintage shots and panoramas of our beloved city. Its also funny to watch from our perspective and can appear at times to be a silly little propaganda piece. enjoy!

I wish they got rid of the massive parking lot on the Clock Tower pier. I'm also not quite sure of the attraction of paying to sit/lie in what is essentially a glorified sandbox. I bet all the Jersey Shore types will invade it now.

haha It is a beach without water, as exciting I think, as an apple with the skin, but no flesh.

6 dollars + taxes. No thank you. This is ridiculous. Sugar beach in Toronto, design by the same team, is FREE. Now the odious SOCIÉTÉ DU VIEUX-PORT DE MONTRÉAL has hijacked a public space open to everyone to make it a private commercial place open only to the riches. Scandaleux. I hope this will be a huge failure. F**ck them.

You can't swim there, not because the water is not clean but because of the strong currents. Ok that's understandable. But something like this would justify the entrance fee of 6$.

Recall the Tour Alta going up in LaSalle near Angrignon metro station? It is U/C and is topped out. It is on the right in the render below.

They are planning a phase 2 (Tour Alfa) in the middle and phase 3 (Tour Alba) on the left. The three of them will be known as the "Quartier A".

That "glorified-sandbox" is a embarrassment to the city. I seriously hope that thing doesn't make it in the tourist guides.

Le Silhouette on De la Commune in Old Montreal. This one is plain and simple. I think it should take advantage of its position on the corner, and put in some rounded edge or something. (Also it's a real shame that the fugly pink building next door isn't being demolished!)

I like the ''european'' architecture & density for this part of the city. It's perfect.

Great for the density, but the architecture ? Come on ! We can dot so much better than that. Just look at the marvelous M9 projects just a block away.
