This beast is officially under excavation, therefore, U/C!

Could anyone include it in the skyscraper map? I'm pretty sure an 11 story off a office building will have a final height of at least 35 meters.

Just did a massive overhaul of the New Westminster diagrams on the city's skyscraper page.

Took it from 1 last week, to 8 yesterday, now (if they all get approved) 27 tomorrow.

Hope someone with a bit more skill in diagram making can help us out by makin some higher quality ones

Something completely different.

This is at the east end of downtown New West just east of the Columbia Station. It is tha same builder that did the Inter Urban. I think there might even be a thread for it already... I know it has been discussed on the forum in the past.

The marketing material is new though.

Also, pretty hilarious and kind of mean spirited advertising given that this tower will obstruct the views from an older apartment building that thought it would have "waterfront views. for all. forever."

Until towers get built on the south side of Columbia. And they will...eventually, maybe 40 years from now Anyways like I said in the Turn thread, imo you cant own a view.

When you tie your value to something you dont own be prepared to lose it. I have no sympathy, people should understand what they are buying and pay for it accordingly.

Yeah, the developer is kinda setting itself up for a lawsuit in the future, isn't it? It could have stopped at "... for all" rather than adding "forever".

But if you look at the grades, roads and sky train rights of way, I don't think these are going to get blocked, and if they do it won't be "totally" blocked.

Of course nothing is forever, well except diamonds.

Aside, this is totally the wrong thread. I tried to bump the 125 Columbia thread, but people kept going here. Perhaps a Mod can move this over?

According to my brother, who is working for the contractor, structural work will start in earnest in February.

^Excellent.

I'm really excited to watch this office building to go up. One more piece of the puzzle for what's becoming a very cool downtown.

Wish the civic centre portion was extending north and filling in up to (and under) the SkyTrain tracks (including over the site of the building that's current under the tracks on Begbie).

Wonder how the office tower portion of this civic centre will be received by the market.
