Nice. Was the air quality really that good? I don't think I've ever seen it look that clear. Beautiful photo!

^Absolutely, Kevin. Look at how far you can see in to the distance. That's no camera trick.

The past ten days have been unbelievably clear. I can't remember a stretch of weather like this in my 6 years of living here. I took a boatload of photos from this rooftop. I'll be going through the rest of them soon, and of course, posting them on SSP.

Great photo as always, giallo. Can't wait to see some cladding on this one.

Yep. Best air quality by far I've ever seen in my 5 years here. Took my parents to the airport for them to go back to Canada on Sunday, and was stunned by how far away I could clearly see Lujiazui from. Whatever the government is doing to improve air quality, it does seem to be working.

OK, glad to know I am not crazy and that this phenomenon is truly that; a phenomenon!

I left China on the 19th for a quick trek to the States, at which time the air in China was still crap, hazy and cloudy. I said goodbye to the dreary weather in Nanjing and Shanghai, excited to be getting relatively better air in LA.

I remember flying back on the 23rd and being so depressed at the thought of returning to a country where I rarely have more than 2 miles of visibility. I was SHOCKED when landing on the 24th around 5 PM to see how clear Shanghai was from the air. I could see for miles!!!! I have NEVER in my whole time in China seen such a clear day. It was amazing to see all of Shanghai from the air, and its size. I was so amazed by what I had seen I didn't think to whip out my camera until after we had already landed.

The nice weather has stuck around and even in Nanjing I have had clear blue skies and white fluffy clouds reminiscent of my Colorado home. The air has gotten slightly worse over the last day or two, but still better than it was three weeks ago and before. I'd post a picture from my office right now but my work has a horrible firewall filter. Maybe I will post it later.

For those of you laughing at all these posts about clear skies in China, believe all of us forumers over here when we say we are utterly in awe of the blue skies we have had in the past week. I wouldn't have written such a lengthy post if this were not the case. I hope this is indicative of things to come in this country but I'm not holding my breath (although I should; the air is perfect for this now and I may not get another chance!) I almost wonder if it has something to do with the government cracking down on pollution before the handover in a few months?

Shanghai tower lookin' good and maybe I'll snap a few pics of it from the Bund this weekend should the clear skies and weather hold up.

Fantastic pics as always, Andrew. It's amazing just how beautiful Shanghai is when you can actually see it and when the skies are blue.

Wow, this tower is rising so incredibly fast. My uncle who lives in Shanghai now is head of the company whose doing all the carpeting in this building so maybe one day Ill get VIP access to it whenever I get back to China someday.

Awesome photos giallo, sure would love to live in a city like that, the photographic opportunities would be endless.

Those clear Shanghai pics are awesome. I was not so blessed during my visits to the Oriental Pearl tower and SWFC.

What is that building in the foreground of that picture, the one that looks exactly like BOA tower?
