I feel like I remember seeing three organic lattice/screens in the upper parts of the openings facing Wacker, no? Were those inside? IIRC they were outside. I don't see any mounting hardware, and I'd be pissed if those got cut. I felt they somewhat redeemed the way this building slams into the sidewalk. Just like 500 LSD, the carrot never materializes.

Here's hoping to God they don't get control of the Spire site.

It is amazing that the pool and sundeck are in the Loop. We've come a long way. Very nice amenities here for sure.

The amenities: http://www.related.com/apartment-ren...FWQQ7AodPgUAfQ

The amenities will be nice, for sure, but rather inadequate, IMO.

One indoor pool with a sliding wall to the outside. 6 barbeque grills, 20 single lounges and 3 double lounges shown. Fitness center looks OK.

500 (studio to 3-br penthouse floor) living units in the building. Average size = 950 sq. ft. per unit; lowest advertised studio rental = $1,995/mo. No balconies for the units - even penthouses. I'm sure there are extra charges for amenities designated as "available."

Best thing about living at 111 is the absolute killer location for people who work in the Loop and River North. Lots of activity in the neighborhood. Building looks sharp and contemporary, too. Much better than the bankrupt and uncompleted parking garage.

Taking aside all practicalities of actually living in this building, I have to say I am really liking how it has turned out. Nothing fancy, but enough of a difference to not be a completely boring box. It certainly looks right in it's location along the wall of skyscrapers facing the river.

Open to the public on a daily basis, not monthly contracts as per residents only. ^

Lol wow, no shit. I too had assumed the concrete elements of this building were to be clad in some kind of metal. Holy shit, what a flop, indeed.

Well shit happens, what are you gonna do? sure this building isn't Waterview, but its better then the parking garage that was there. the building isnt going anywhere, so we might as well just deal with it.

There was no parking garage, it was a vacant lot for as far back as I can recall.

I think he is referring to the half built empty shell that was there, which was pretty much only the parking portion of the building.
