No, the tower has risen by about 20 stories in the past six months. It's been going strong and steady and will only continue to do so.

I am asking nicely if we can go back on the subject of Tower 1v2 aka freedom tower. this is not a political thread, so lets respect the rules set by the moderators and stick to the subject of the thread.

any how, by tuesday i think they will advance to the start of floors 41 and 42, the final rise before it topples the verizon building.

Cool diagram, but wouldn't the 105th floor be 1368 feet since it's basically the roof?

Does anyone know if the spire will be pre-built when it's put up or assembled bit by bit?

Is it even possible to pre-build a spire?

The spire well be put up in 20 foot high sections, mostly due to weight. About a ton per foot.

The tower is scheduled to top out in late 2011, I figure the spire well be toped out in March or April 2012.

I sometimes walk betweem Downtown and Midtown because its an enjoyable walk. So the notion of "far" is lost on me. However, as correctly stated, pretty much any subway will get you in the vicinity of the site. It's important to be aware that a LOT of suway construction work is happening on the weekends, and some lines are cut short or not operational at all. All you need to know is you just want to get Downtown. A few of the main stops are Chambers, Fulton, Park Place, Wall, City Hall/Brooklyn Bridge, Cortlandt/WTC).

And I can't wait to watch.
