I sometimes walk betweem Downtown and Midtown because its an enjoyable walk. So the notion of "far" is lost on me. However, as correctly stated, pretty much any subway will get you in the vicinity of the site. It's important to be aware that a LOT of suway construction work is happening on the weekends, and some lines
are cut short or not operational at all. All you need to know is you just want to get Downtown. A few of the main stops are Chambers, Fulton, Park Place, Wall, City Hall/Brooklyn Bridge, Cortlandt/WTC).
