101 Meadowlilly Rd proposed development

I recently joined this page, but have followed the London Skyscraper page for a long time. I personally think this proposal for 101 Meadowlily Rd is inappropriate for this area. It is too large a development for that property and will require the sewage to be piped up the road to Commissioners (supposedly the developer wants the city to pay that cost). There are maybe half a dozen houses spread out down the road between Commissioners & the River (all presumably on Septic tanks). It is too narrow a road for such a large development and could get overwhelmed with such a large increase in traffic. It would also have an undue impact on the Meadowlilly ESA directly across the Road.

That area has seen significant development for years with new housing. A massive subdivision is planned for east of Jackson between Commissioners and Bradley. Other neighbourhoods have already been started north of Commissioners between Highbury and Hamilton. I could see a high school zoned in the area as well as thousands already live here and many more will in the future.

I'm shocked this gets approved but the commercial development up along the north side of Commissioners got shut down by the environmentalist crowd. All these new homes and everyone has to drive everywhere to shop. How is that good for the environment?

Hopefully committee and council approve the amended plans. Seems like the same vocal NIMBYs who opposed the original plans are against this one. Developers compromise but still not good enough, just anti-development neighbors who don't want any change.

Idk how I feel on this one, but I mean the argument that the area will be overwhelmed is kind of false. There's already a new subdivision that's mainly built along Commissioners/Hamilton Road, and then the other new subdivision going beside the football fields on Commissioners. Summerside still continues to build, which is insane to me, I still remember as a kid in 2004 hearing about the new Summerside neighbourhood, so traffic is already at its max IMO. The traffic strain would be lighter if they decide to expand Commissioners or Bradley Ave, which is desperately needed. Other than that, the land also is listed for residential development already, its not like its listed for anything else.

Council votes 13-2 to approve the residential development proposed at 101 Meadowlily Rd, despite opposition by neighbours worried about the impact on the Meadowlily ESA. City planners backed the plan because it meets objectives set out in The London Plan and has buffers. #LdnOnt

Committee recommended against but at least full council approved. Some common sense prevailed thankfully.

Hate to say it, but feel it will be a waste of their money and time. The project meets all requirements, has been scaled back as well, and too much development already happening around the area. Plus Idk why they are so opposed, this could mean they redo that terrible bumpy road, and fix the intersection so you're not sitting there for ages if you have to go use the plaza.

Looks like a legal name flip of this property. Apparently the condo development is still going forward.

Site prep is wrapping up now with underground utility services now installed and the roadways roughed in. They have also built a large multi tiered concrete block retaining wall along the south end of the property.

Here is the most recent site-plan I could find ... I got it from a planning committee agenda from a few years ago.

It's possible that some minor things may have changed during the site-plan / design process, etc.
