More from Philly and a few from Baltimore.

Here's the skywalk over 10th Street, this time from the inside.

This gets my vote for the ugliest skywalk ever. These buildings are on Delaware Avenue.

Some skywalks from Baltimore's Charles Village neighborhood. Sweet.

Here's a very bland bridge connecting two government buildings in Seattle. I believe the bridge also continues through the building on the right side, to the King County Jail another block up.

Actually, I found this picture where you can see the continuation of the bridge. I'm sure I have more pictures but I don't feel like uploading them. Anyways, in total 3 government buildings are connected.

I can't believe Minneapolis hasn't been mentioned! Some love em, some hate em, but we do have one of the largest systems, the largest in some ways:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skyway

The world's largest skyway network – Calgary, Alberta's "+15 Walkway" system – has a total length of 16 km (10 miles). However, the system is discontinuous, and it does not connect every downtown building. The largest continuous network of skyways – the Minneapolis Skyway System – spans 8 miles (13 km) connecting 69 blocks in downtown Minneapolis.

Of course there are many arguments on how much and in what ways they effect street life, and how streetlive can be enhanced and cohabitate with the skyways, but thats another debate entirely.

Swindon, Wiltshire.

Has a kind of malevolent look about it, somehow.

Medici (Orsini, Visconti, Piero) in downtown Los Angeles has a skybridge that connects one apartment building to the other.

Look on the left.

Lightshow all night, every night.
They change the color combinations with the seasons. Mostly red and green for Christmas. Red, white and blue for the Fourth of July etc.

This isn't the best video but it gives you an idea what it looks like from street level.

Charlotte has many "honkeytubes" as we call them, where banks scurry between buildings safe from the stench of the commoners on the streets (and the protesters with torches and pitchforks).

But anyway, here is a new skywalk. It will connect the winter garden/lobby of the new Ritz-Carlton hotel & new 30 floor BofA building (right) with Founders Hall and overstreet mall (left).

It's not exactly a skywalk but I've always loved the suspended arches in Philadelphia's Divine Lorraine Hotel...
