Thanks! It is a fun destination for a road trip from Calgary. They have a DIY BBQ on the back patio and there is lots of stuff to look at inside.

Today Joanne, Aisling and I completed the most difficult hike I've ever done. 23 km through the roughest terrain one can imagine in Newfoundland. It took 9 hours of hiking time.

But the reward was the famous Spout - a river channel that turns into a geyser with every single wave that rolls into the coast. It spouts 4-5 times a minute.

A few more...

We kept telling ourselves the whole way, "The last 4 km are on an ATV trail. It'll be easy going then..."

Not so much:

On Wayne, AB: another picturesque town that I passed by last weekend on the east side of Alberta is Meeting Creek between Ohaton and Stettler off Highway 56. Ultimate prairie town in a green valley with a burbling Meeting Creek beside it. I wasn't driving so we didn't stay to take a picture but if you're in the area, keep your eyes out.

The Kawartha's in Ontario. As far as I am concerned, some of Ontario at its best:

I met a middle age gentle man in Penticton in a photography workshop few months ago and I was really inspired by his work. he is an Astrophotographer (galaxy and star photographer). I was learning Astrophotgraphy from few months but was never able to take a nice shot and today I nailed it, here is one I want to share with you guys. last time I posted one and I was said something like this is not a B.C. landscape. very kind and nice of the Moderator that he let the picture slip in the forum. so this time I made sure that I get some trees in the picture as well.

I am saving money to buy a telescope so I can connect it with my camera and take shot of individual galaxies. it might take some time...........

Beautiful BC pics

Speaking of beautiful small towns, Revelstoke BC is friggin gorgeous. They even have an old domed building in the centre of their downtown. The population is about 7200, but it was founded in 1880.

Do they have real sand beaches in Osoyoos? all the Okanagan beaches I've been on are that shitty gravelly sand that destroys your feet lol.

What the heck, one more from Montana (St. Mary) near Glacier National Park, because it's pretty and it's close to Alberta:

The Okanagan pics are so gorgeous. Yes Calgarian, the Okanagan has real sand beaches. See Gyro Beach in Kelowna and many many others, including the entire southern shore of Penticton along Lake Skaha. I miss the Okanagan. We were in the Shuswap camping all weekend, it was so great to be back in the interior

Othello Quintette Tunnels in Hope make a nice day trip from Vancouver. These photos were taken on the August long weekend.

Drive along Lougheed Highway is always a treat.

Fraser River bend in Hope.

Hope

Scenery on our way to the tunnels.

Coquihalla River

Othello Tunnels were part of former Kettle Valley Railway.

Western entrance to the tunnels.

View through all five tunnels.

One of the bridges was closed due to water having eaten away some of the concrete.

These old rail tunnels are really dark.

Between first and second tunnel (from east side).

The more common eastern entrance.
