A new urban signal is set to scrape the sky of Toulouse. This 150M, 40 floors tower should redefine Toulouse's skyline by 2021-2022 and will showcase a partially vegetalized facade. Designed by both American architect Daniel Libeskind and French firm Kardham, the project is said to cost between 120-140 million euros and will be taken care of by French construction company Phalsbourg. This announcement was made by Toulouse City Hall and SNCF (National French Rail Company) at the international real estate fair (Mipim) in Cannes.

Spanning over 30.000 m2 (322.917,31sqft), the tower will be composed of 11.000 m2 of offices, 120 apartments, a panoramic bar&restaurant, a Hilton Hotel and 2000 m2 of commercial space.

The vertical landscape that will emerge thanks to this vegetalized facade was imagined by French landscape architect Nicolas Gilsoul.

Daniel Libeskind-Designed Occitanie Tower to Become Toulouse's Tallest
Quote:
Internationally acclaimed architect Daniel Libeskind has won top spot in a recent French design competition, with a proposal to build what will soon become the first skyscraper in Toulouse, the ancient capital of Occitanie in Southern France known more for its historic streetscapes than modern glass towers. Known as the Occitanie Tower, or Tour Occitanie to locals, the 150-metre, 40-storey office tower will rise from the heart of the city's business district, located just outside the city centre adjacent to the main railway station.
