Lots of great images filled with beautiful architecture. After just recently moving to southwestern Ohio, I am only beginning to discover and appreciate a lot of the states smaller historic cities and towns.

I really enjoy the small town stuff. Some classic structures in those places. Looks like Mingo Junction has its best days way in the past. Thanks.

I still think this former headquarters of Longaberger stands out as one of the most appropriate structures designed to reflect a company's wares!

My grandfather used to travel a lot to Paris, KY for reasons none of us ever understood (maybe it was for softball matches?) and always got a kick out of saying "I'm going to Paris" or "I went to Paris!"

So, yeah: Ohio Valley.

The Ohio River towns have so much history, i work in Wellsburg and Wheeling WV. Unfortunately, most of the smaller Ohio river towns are dead or dying.

Nice pictures! I can see some of the influence from Pennsylvania and upstate New York in these cities and towns.

You showed both Ohio cousins of Delaware's Wilmington and Newark!

nice one...this little quadrant spanning the ohio river has excellent bones.



i always thought this building in lexington was kind of freaky somehow, like stretched too tall for the footprint and style. i always kind of give it a double take. it's a good one, though.

The architecture clearly reflects the early settlement patterns. The people who built these towns obviously came from the Mid-Atlantic. Compare these to the New England-like towns near the Great Lakes.
