For some silly reason of mine, I could never point a camera at someone like this.

I just can't and don't really know why. I must be kind of super shy. And minding your camera prevents you from deeply enjoying present things. Taking pics is like working.

Did you know war reporters felt like they weren't really involved in the action they live, while they put their very lives at stake? They feel like their cameras make them invicible outsiders to the actual action, while bullets still ignore cameras.
That's how sick reporters get stuck in crazy gun-fires in Syria or Iraq for a scoop. I'm completely stunned by what they can do, while I would require an assault rifle to defend myself in a same situation. But they'll defend themselves only with their silly cameras.

You've got a good eye anyway. Nice little set.

Great pics of London! Haven't been there since 2005. That's a shame since it costs only about 20 euro with lowfare airlines from Copenhagen!

Thanks! I think people shots in street photography are the most difficult to accomplish. This is a subject used to being photographed; she is performing, so there's an unwritten rule that means you can take pictures. I feel the same walking down the street as you do; too shy. I think a 300+mm lens would help me out in that departement. Or one of the smaller high quality point and shoot cameras out there.

Same here, we've got a direct flight to London East End for just about € 35 or thereabouts.

Great shots. Favorites: #9, 21, 35, 41, 42, 43. Taking street scenes with people needs a certain unshyness and audacity. Another thing about street scenes is that many times the 'frozen' walking gestures have the legs/feet in strange positions. Continuous shooting mode can help to select the best picture.

Very nice glimpse of London, especially with the Beatles souvenirs.

What a great set - really captures the energy, variety and character of the city... and the people. That one guy in the b&w shot has a very mysterious expression.
