I have to admit, the only place I'd ever had Van Houtte was where I used to work, and as I didn't make the coffee, I have no idea how dirty the coffee urns may have been. A clean urn can make all the difference between good and bad coffee.
The place I used to work served Van Houtte's coffee in the cafeteria. It was horrible and always left a nasty aftertaste. Much worse than Tim Hortons (which isn't saying much). I brought my own coffee.

The ironic thing is that the few times I actually went to a Van Houtte retail location I found it to be pretty good on average.

Coffee gave me a lot of stomach acidity, so now I'm off the stuff entirely. I don't miss it at all. (I'm drinking tea now)

I think he might be referencing this government website where you can order a free picture of the Queen. http://www.pch.gc.ca/eng/1287065964438/1316179193764

The portrait of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh would be perfect for anyone's loo, but alas!—sold out.

As much as I like elitism, feeling above others, and belittling their choice of inexpensive consumer items, including coffee, I do love me some Timmy's.

High five for every day Canadians!

I switched to tea about six months ago, and I don't regret it! I predict a ''tea boom'' in the foreseeable future. Tea is underrated.

I don't go to MacDonalds because they sell garbage. Does that make me a meatlitist?

I don't go to Tim Hortons because they sell garbage. There are a dozen or so places closer to me that are much better and roughly the same price.

Not going to Tim Hortons is not elitist, it's the opposite: spending my limited funds wisely!

I'm having a very good year. I've won almost every single cup, at 4/5 right now.

If that's your opinion then whatever, we really couldn't care less. You only become an elitist if you start treating the people who buy Tim Hortons as unwashed peasant scum. That is the kind of behaviour we would expect from rabid Apple fans and Porsche Cayenne drivers, but not intelligent coffee drinkers.

Tim's is the only thing open when I go to work. It's not great, but it's way better than the office coffee and less prone to eating grounds. So far... 2/4 with two free coffees.

I do hate that I have to get a cup when I use a reuseable container.
