Haha where is the Mississauga skyline in the voting. Suburban tops would go to Burnaby BC.

And there's barely 5 regular Vancouver posters in the Canada section let alone 10.

I voted for Toronto for #1, because it is.

But #2 for me is Vancouver.

#3 is a tie between Montreal and Calgary.

I still feel that many on here have a decade out of date opinion of the Vancouver Skyline (table top comments, no pinnacles, etc...). The next 5 years are also going to really add to the growing trend of varying styles in tower designs.

Ironically my favorite angles of the Vancouver Skyline don't even involve the mountains.

Unfortunately the smoke was heavy when I took these pics:

Also Vancouver and Montreal have the added textures of bridges and shipping cranes than really add to the skylines IMO that Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton largely lack.

Also the Metrotown Skyline also deserves to be on this list

It's the same with Sydney - if ever it gets passed by Melbourne, Sydney will still be the most iconic skyline in the country due to famous landmarks like the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Or Rio which has the most iconic skyline in Brazil due to the Christ statue and the sugarloaf mountain, among other things.

(And Toronto was not even the largest city in Canada when the CN Tower was built.)
I acknowledged that in my original post - the CN Tower is the defining feature of the Toronto skyline. Without it, the skyline becomes much more generic.

I suppose Toronto isn't a primate city either by definition. Still, these types of things only tend to be built in the major cities of the world.

Toronto Skyline is impressive, but it is kind of chaotic. There are a few weird buildings there and I have never liked the cn tower. My vote goes to Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.

The MTL skyline is also really starting to look up. I have always like the MTL skyline.

I mean, the votes are public so it's easy to check out. That is definitely the case for Edmonton, and most of the Van votes. But my question is, how the frig did Rico Rommheim get 3 votes?! Hacking level; ultimate!

And Luisito got FOUR votes in. I wanted to vote twenty times in hopes that I might hit on the "correct answer". I only got to vote once!

I voted for Toronto because it is the best, but I can understand why some wouldn’t for it. There are even a couple regular non Vancouver forum members on here who regularly say that Vancouver is their favorite (same for Calgary and Montreal)

If you ask me the results seem to be right in line with the regular banter on this forum.

Don’t get butt hurt over Vancouver getting second place. You still won by a large margin. Or are you concerned with your inauguration crowd??

I counted 7 Vancouver forumers that voted for Toronto, myself included.

Does it really matter if some people find their hometown's skyline better though? Is it worth bringing it up? Does the pot need to be stirred over something that is totally subjective?

You can actually select all of the options. Of course I just abused the hell out of this.

Vancouverites are getting defensive. It's all in fun.

Kitchener has the titties which tops everything.

This poll omits some major players as far as skylines are concerned.

Mississauga
Burnaby
Surrey
Saskatoon
Regina

Mississauga and Burnaby alone are easily top 10 in Canada as far as skylines are concerned. Also, we already had a perfectly good poll on this

Would anyone really vote Surrey, Saskatoon and Regina over Toronto?

I mean, how many options do we need for the sake of diversity...

I think this would be for 2nd place at best. Toronto has the tallest and largest skyline so it might be no contest for 1st.

I think there can be debate among Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary for number one, especially if you consider surroundings and vantage points. Edmonton and Mississauga, almost in the top group of they weren't so communist looking.
