They're doing a lot on the inside. You can see the floors starting to take shape. Ceiling installations in some units, etc...

They're probably fitting the interior out. The exterior is almost complete; the last parts will be finished when the interior fit-out's complete and they take the construction elevator down.

You can't tell from this picture. But they have drilled a bunch of weird circular holes all over the limestone portion. I can't tell what they're going to be used for.

Drove by this today as well. From a couple of blocks away the mesh crown doesn't seem to serve any purpose. It's far too transparent if part of the purpose was to obscure the equipment on the roof. It would look more attractive without it, actually.

I was initially excited by this project but so far I am pretty bummed. The renderings showed a more cohesive exterior - not the case. If they also don't clean the old building - super disappointed.

It is because the renderings depicted a white brick or porcelain looking material, like this builing:

Would have looked better both with the original limestone and the other portion of the overbuild than what they went with. I still think it looks decent aside from the all brick side/butcher block side facing 15th street. By the way, the building is now leasing. Signs are up.

Thanks PhillybyDrone. Great to see.
This building really misses where the new building meets the top of the old building. It looks like a loading dock in the sky. Unfortunately, blending with the old often means bland. I do applaud the preservation of the old building facade now clean it.

FWIW, I like it in person.

I spent some time standing in the middle of Walnut Street during the Ritt. Row Festival a couple weeks ago staring at this building. As far as scale, materials, and form, this fits in really well with the existing pre-war building. This is one location where a glass skinned building would have been a miss. Very well conceived and executed.
