That is lovely

I actually hope we can have some models with extreme details like that. If it's under 10 mb it will be ok.

About all i can do is make the current columns narrower because the tops aren't editable now.

A street view,

All my constructions will have a 'Qikstart' coffee stop attached like in this pic.

Lol i didnt realise how close i put the reception desk to the entry

I am still looking for all the materials to use on the roads/gutter/sidewalk etc. but the current material is just paint for now.

The renders here are still just quickly done, I am learning more about Kerkythea so the final renders will be more realistic than i have ever done.

If it's ok i would like to finish the rest of the half block here with a multi level parking station(1985) with a park to the street side, The lane down the middle can turn into the car park access roads.
+ Arcade/Mini mall with 2nd floor residencies on the corner - Circa 1980 with revamped 1995 style shopfronts.

Well that half-finished (it has only two sides) building is only 450 KB, but already has over 300 000 edges and 150 000 faces. I can trim it A LOT without losing any significant detail. I hope to do that next weekend.

Your plans for the rest of the half block look very good - both interesting and realistic. I'd like to put my building across the lane next to that highrise of yours, if that's ok?

Btw. what floor height you've used in that building?

I started building a NY style italiante bodega type building on the same block next to Mocholate's tower. I'm hoping to make a row of tenement type dealies, but I have my design finals this week and won't have any more time soon to finish:

Cheesus christ your really goin for the detail in this one,id say it will look really good and there will be great streetview shots..but...while the grid like
road system is fine for the immediate city centre, too much grid reminds me of sim cities or kids lego.A few curved roads here and there so some of the buildings can be at different angles otherwise the skyline would looklike
skyscrapers being stacked on a supermarketshelf..thats my two cents for the week

Vellu, My PC has managed files with 5million edges before, but yeah all the more trimming the better. I generally use 4m/13ft floors.

Vellu-CGII, You both chose the same spot? You2'll have to decide which side you want.

CGII, At those heights your's will be in the foreground a lot - It's a good thing.
Take your time,Just be sure to mark your territory.Study is #1 priority.

toyota74, spot on. Just had to play it safe at the start.

treras, Call it Awesome hotel?
You guys will have to help me out in regards to American architechture because i am overwhelmed by it. I'm not sure what period that style is.

i think the city progress is going well so far, but i have a question. Are some of the buildings stuck next to each other or it will have little roads between them, and if they will be little roads how many meters will they be?

We can always add more roads and streets if you need.
The lane way in the above pic was recently created.

Should we prefix our glass materials with something, so you know to edit them in Kerky? Are you going to just add reflections or use the dielectric/glass or thin glass (or reflective glass from kt materials) materials? Because I think that the use of kt's glass materials produces a more realistic look.

Nah it's Ok Vellu. We might end up with duplicates. I'll just change the names as i receive the models. Thanks for the offer.
I will be painting various windows of the models in a material which can be illuminated for night shots.

I agree on the glass and I'm looking for an alternative that runs faster. I am prepared to set off the occasional week long render though if we want to use transparent glass.

One thing to keep in mind though is most buildings use tints and are rarely see through. It should be only used when necessary, Lobby levels are usually transparent.

We should develop a city zoning map to show height restrictions first and once everyone agrees on that, we can start building. Because I feel like the blocks being developed currently should hold some high-rises [maybe even tallest in city] as well as low-rises and open plaza's.

We should yer.

After the first 2 blocks are done we'll get more political about it all. We could start now really.

No one has objected to many of the ideas given on these pages so I'll coalate all the ideas and present them for discussion.
