Russellville also produced a former member of the Toronto Raptors... so it would seem that folks from Russellville can function in Toronto as well. How about that?

I bet the good people of Russellville are firmly behind President Obama's healthcare reform bill. I suspect a large number of them will benefit from it more than they realize, even if the guy championing it can't produce an authentic birth certificate.

Yes, I have seen these scenes played out all over this great nation of ours, as has been mentioned by many other posters already....and that includes Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and I'm sure every state in the union including California and Florida, despite what some may believe. These pictures are just a few of the many faces of America. It's reality.

The premise of this thread feels a little uncomfortable (I think we could have done without the Walmart and church photo imo), but god what a fascinating thread! Even my Wasilla tour a couple years ago fails to compare to this.

Are you sure you don't want to change your ID to "Head in the Clouds"?

I was trying to be ironic, but I'll take your suggestion under advisement Mr. Denson--if that's your real name.

Come on. This is "Industrialized Agriculture/American Capitalism/Recession meets Global Economy".

How fare are the 10k+ student university and the couple thousand student college from these parts? Sounds like your guardians/parents or scholarship are paying your way.

Wow! It looks like those places in horror movies... The ones where the college kids take the shortcut through the country instead of staying on the freeway and wind up getting eaten by the backwoods rednecks. There are places in the Mojave Desert like this too.

Everyone's so quick to pass judgement. Don't these photos make any of you profoundly sad? Especially this one:

Yeah, its so sad. Ridiculous thread. Ive only been to Arkansas once, and can make no comment on the people, but I do know its much more diverse than this thread would lead any casual observer to believe.
I was in the Hot Springs area in fall and it was as beautiful and the fall colors as spectacular as any place Ive seen New England included.

Did you not read? I said like a million times before that not all of Arkansas looks like this, just a lot of it. I have posted a lot of other threads about Arkansas, one recently showing off the very progressive town of Conway.

Still, maybe its just a girl and her little brother taking a shortcut through a lot with some old cars on it and nothing more. Honestly, I think the deal is these are people who don't want to hear it from anyone and that won't change, ever. There's nothing anyone can do about save for the long, slow, demographic shrinkage and migration to urban areas.

I've only ridden through on a bus so I can't comment about Arkansas but it looks a lot like parts of central-east Texas, namely Waco, Bryan, Corsicana, Hearne, and the Brazos Valley region . I think there's a shared history of agriculture(cotton and rice in particular), some old industry, college towns, a sizable black population, baptist, etc.

Oh I read, and its sensationalism at best, like always.
