Still a glorious design, one of the top two or three going up in the city right now. It's still my favorite, although there are some challengers (Steinway, Flatbush).

Thanks NY Guy, where I was heading with my comment was that the diagonal aluminum cladding rather than being on the same plane as the glass, could have looked slightly bolder if offset outward say 8" or so to create depth. This can be done easily with curtainwall regardless of the structure behind. However, it still remains awesome in my book. Onward and upward.

I know what you meant. That's why I gave the explanation of the change.

I like it smooth anyway. It lends an ethereal quality for what could've been an awkward cladding had they done it al a Hancock @Chicago.

In fact, in addition to this being what I originally dubbed One57's Goth twin sister, I now christen it Hancock at an Exhibition.

A few weeks old, but I love this view of two of our most anticipated towers along with one that will top them all, rising simultaneously into the skyline.
The City is becoming more and more a collection of supertall towers rather than just a few, dominant towers that symbolize the city. We will have our
super-slenders along with the bulky and boxy giants. But it all works together to give us the variety the skyline needs. Still, 53w53 stands at the top
as my favorite, even if 111 W. 57th is close and threatens the #1 spot.

This is turning out beautifully. Also seems like great progress since I was last on this forum. It looks exactly as good as in the renderings. Can't wait to see this one finished.

I can hardly wait until this tower is topped out, the others can wait, but once 53W53 tops out, this pano (and the view) will be 10 times greater...
