I think in time they will put a food court or some place to eat on top of Tower 1 although it may not be a restaurant but it could be similar to what the South Tower had which was Nathan's or Sbarros. I mean the Tower should have three decks I think that's a good idea. I heard the observation deck will open summer of '14 so that would make sense because the building is scheduled for late '13 or early '14.

You can't unless if there is a freight/service elevator which once again it doesn't have. The original North and South Tower of the World Trade Center had one, but the new one does not. I know how everyone wants to eat a quarter of a mile in the sky, but the Port Authority will not allow it.

I have to agree with this, where's your social life folks?

Anyways, for those interested, work with hotel containers is almost done, today they removed the final trusses that supported them. In the next few days new steel will arrive, not columns but floor and filler beams for floors 89th and 90th; after that metal deck work is next. Once this stage is complete, columns for 91 & 91M will arrive.

I thought floor 89 was decked out and the containers were on that floor. Was that floor 88?

Otie, where did you find out that the 91st floor had a mezzanine level because from Zen's prints it said only floors 92, 93, and 102 have mezzanine levels above the actual floors. Plus in some of your old diagrams I didn't see any 91M so I was just curious.

Zen's prints only showed the major mezzanines, they don't show 3M,4M,5M,6M,91M,103M & 104M. My diagrams also list the major ones, I'll add them

From what I understand, it will be early in '14. This building isn't supposed to be opened until late '13, so I don't think, that is because of a delay. After the skin is clad all the way to the top late this year, it'll still take about a year to finish, the internal work. 2014 will be an awesome year. Tower 1 will be done. The Super Bowl will be in MetLife Stadium in February. Does anybody think we can have an all New York Super Bowl? Jets vs. Giants? Maybe with the Manning Bros. I don't mean to start any rumours, however with Peyton likely not long for Indy, maybe, just maybe he can be the 'other' Manning, on the other NY football team. My apologies for going astray and off topic here, but this could be an omen for a very significant watershed period in NY. 2014. Watch out!

We're currently on 90 and as you can see in Carlos' pics, 90 and 89 still have to be decked.

Carlos. Can you put arrows to floor 89 in the picture of 1WTC. I know the top beams are for floor 90 but floor 89 is the 1st 20'+ floor. The 2 levels of beams behind the blue netting don't look 20' apart. I think the 2nd ones down are for the curtian wall and floor 89 is at the bottom of the blue netting. Is that wrong?

As I mentioned earlier, Top of the Rock has 3 decks, and it's a better experience than going to the ESB with it's longer (2 hr) lines. A restaurtant would have been nice as well, but with the money the ESB is raking in with its deck, I think it's the way to go for now.

Hey I see that all the openings (missing glass) on floor 20 have been boarded up. Are there any immediate plans for them to install the glass or are they still gonna need these openings to help install the base cladding???

It has been left like that so they can safely bring glass up to the upper floors. It won't be covered till 2013.
