Historic Jung Hotel set to open in November

The rehabilitation of the Jung Hotel, one of the most historic hotels in the city, is nearing its completion, bringing the building back to its former prominence.
Developer and hotelier Joe Jaeger spearheaded the full renovation of the 17-story hotel at 1500 Canal St. at the cost of $140 million. The restoration began in the spring of 2015. Marc Becker, area director of sales and marketing for the New Orleans Hotel Collection, said the development is set to open its doors to the public in November.
The hotel will offer 207 rooms and suites that average 570 square feet and offer guests room service, free Wi-Fi and a welcome drink. Amenities for guests will include a rooftop poolside bar and spa, a restaurant and coffee shop.

the amount of dirt they brought in for that is astounding... reminds me of when they were building the medical centers

Is the Stephens Garage project actually moving forward? I walk by there frequently and the only activity I have seen was for a film shoot a few weeks back.

I actually didn't see that Lemoine sign anymore, which is what prompted the question. That block of Carondelet has some wonderful old buildings that I would love to see some real activity on.

going through permits for that building it shows entergy has a permit to cut street and bring new service to building that was applied for late last month and the main permit still hasnt been approved but a response letter from the city reviewers was dated september 29th so it seems to be moving forward just needs to be approved I guess...stormwater plan was approved too

God I hope so. It's a huge eyesore in a neighborhood that has progressed tremendously since the streetcar opened. There is a real lack of dining options (especially late night) on and near Rampart.

Because it was collapsing and rotting away as there was no movement on the restaurant. It was also receiving citations for its condition.
