I have never seen a crane erected for as long as 181 Fremont, the building is basically finished on the exterior.

What is the dark floor about halfway up SF tower?

181 Fremont has its own thread with much infomation about the tower in it, including the layout. No one knows why the crane and exterior elevator are still up--it's an excellent question.

The high chinese population that mostly comes from hong kong and southern china helps too of course, when you actually get down to the streets.

Definitely. With the triad of Salesforce, 181 Fremont, and the Bay, SF does resemble a mini HK. It certainly helps that SF is the most culturally Chinese city in the US, with heavy influence from HK and Guangdong.

Cool perspective above the window washing equipment tracks, bolstering the argument that SFT essentially has a complete functioning roof at approximately the 1060 foot level.

I love this tower. Timeless, like the Golden Gate and Transamerica.

^Probably this Twitter picture, which Salesforce Tower retweeted (and Marc Benioff posted without crediting the originator).

Light from Lightning 09/11/2017

I took this photograph from my apartment which shows the city lit in a violet light from lightning, which is outside of the photo's field of view. The Hilton Hotel tower's south wall shows the effect most effectively. (I did get one decent picture of a bolt of lighting but not relative to this forum for posting.)

I observed the view for an hour but did not see any sky to ground lightning strikes. All of the lighting I saw from cloud to cloud.

Lit by Lightning - 9-11-2017

Are we sure that's lightning hitting the SF Tower and not the SF Tower emitting its giant death ray?

Incredible to see San Francisco finally will get a new tallest since 1972! And those new photos really looks like renderings, it is rare to see a building look so dreamy.
