Exclamation Apple Store Pacific Centre Grand Opening

I GOT A T-SHIRT =D Way too large for me: American Apparel XL black with the apple logo and Pacific Centre in the front, the back with Designed by Apple California.

I got there at 8:23 along with a friend and we were already in the second section of the line [the line is divided into three sections]. By 9:16 the line was already out of the mall, winding up at around Le Chateau. 9:40, you could see the end of the line at the Mall Entrance at Howe & Georgia. SO MANY STAFF MEMBERs =O

When you walk in, you walk by ALL the staff members high fiving them along the way. So loud: they were cheering and screaming =) so fun though =D

Pictures taken by Me.

8:23 Outside of H&M

(I was around here)

(My hand was trembling today - too early in the morning and no breakfast, but in this shot, you can see the line at Howe & Georgia entrnace)

AT LAST: PRESENTING APPLE PACIFIC CENTRE

The Line at 10:30 - still out the mall

Thanks deasine!

Will have to go check it out later.

And I guess they're probably not celebrating too much over at Simply Computing, where I've bought 2 desktop macs, an ipod and other stuff over the years.

My next purchase will be at the official store, sorry Simply.

I got there a little after 10, the line was already around the corner outside. It took about 40 minutes to get in, but I still got a T-shirt. By the time I left, they were gone.

They're not cheaper at the official store, are they? I figure they wouldn't undercut their third party retailers.

Apple stuff is the same price everywhere (in theory). I'll be shopping at the Apple store because they are closer to where I live and I assume (don't prove me wrong Apple) it will have better service. (Altho the service I got from Simply and others wasn't that bad.)

Thanks for the pics deasine. That's hilarious that there was a high-fiving gauntlet the customers would pass through! I'm sure that really pumped everybody up. Did you buy anything while you were there?

Are those glowing advertisements on the wall video screens or just backlit?

I've found Simply to be more expensive for third-party products, though.

God damn, Mac users terrify me with their cultish ways. I don't understand what would drive people to stand in line for so long for products they could already buy at lots of other places. Maybe they brought in a portable RDF generator?

(This is coming from a Mac user, by the way. Don't kill me.)

Well, I've been inside Apple's campus at Cupertino. I have a cousin who's a programmer with the iChat team.

Is there anything in that store that you couldn't buy before the opening?

And if not, that is retarded.

Backlit unfortunately... wow if they were video screens =O I would consider that a minature flagship =)

Everyone was really pumped up... very fun and loud! =D It was worth me giving up my morning sleep =)

I didn't buy anything myself: I will never buy any iPods ever again after both of my previous iPods died a few days after the warrenty. I'm not a mac user but I wanna MacBook: the next macbook will be aluminum so I'm waiting for that. Maybe then I'll line up again.

Too bad they didn't give free iPod shuffles =P

Wow...from the looks of the lineup, I would have thought they were giving away free iPods or something. Won't be shopping at their overpriced store either way...

I must say I'm disappointed by the t-shirt I got. Just has a small apple logo in the front beside "Pacific Centre" written in white (black shirt)

"Designed by Apple in California" on the back.

Good thing I only had to wait 10 minutes at most to get in. I went there around 11'ish.

I should brag about being an Apple geek 25 years before the current craze, when I was a keener fidgeting with the Apple II computer at the back of the classroom, while all the other kids played outside.

They should take a page out of the Hard Rock Cafe of the 80's, and design shirts with the Apple logo on top and the city name underneath.

Hopefully it's not as busy on Monday morning. I'm not going to bother venturing in to the Weekend crowds

And... I'm in the market for a new desktop! Joy!
